Oregon Firearms Academy LLC (OFA) delivers defensive firearms and tactics instruction to the military, law enforcement, corrections, armed security professionals, private investigators, and qualified private citizens throughout
the USA including Canada. OFA is more than a “shooting” school as it has a long history of providing broader self-defense skills and tactics to those individuals who are serious about their personal safety in this age of uncertainty. OFA’s curriculum is the most extensive in the region consisting of over 35 different courses ranging from basic to advanced defensive handgun, rifle, carbine, shotgun and long-range precision rifle including several specially courses including Urban/Wilderness Survival for a Potentially Hostile Environment and Edged Weapons/Hand-to-Hand and related skills.
The Academy’s staff is a blend of law enforcement firearms instructors and highly qualified instructors from the private sector with over 75+ years of combined experience in teaching defensive firearms. The staff composition includes a Senior Range Master from a State Police Academy, an Active SWAT Scout/Sniper, an Attorney, former Gun Store Owner, former US Army SF Medic, Retired Undefeated MMA Fighter, former US Army Small Arms Armorer, a current Gun Store owner, and former owner of a Bullet Manufacturing business just to name a few.
Also, many of the staff are adjunct firearm instructors for Clint Smith's International Training Consultants and for John Farnam's Defensive Training International The staff was honored for their contribution in advancing the profession, by being recognized in the acknowledgment page in John Farnam's latest book on defensive handgunning.
The business started in 1997, but recently has undergone a major renovation project making the Academy more competitive with larger nationally recognized schools. Now, Public and Private Citizens are able to attend the same level and quality of training as offered by the nationally recognized schools without incurring the high cost of travel.
